I’ve recently become a home owner, and am thoroughly entrenched in the ‘nesting’ process – My time at home is filled with arranging and rearranging cushions & soft furnishings, displaying art & ornaments, and making lists of projects I need to complete. I absolutely love finding new trinkets and treasures to fill my home with, and subsequently creating a space where I feel calm, relaxed and comfortable.

For my first post, I thought I would let you into my favourite (and most ‘complete’) room of my home – My lounge room. I love this space – It’s formal yet relaxed, neutral but full of texture and tone, and is a fusion of two of my favourite styles – Vintage Glamour meets Hamptons Chic.

The French linen lounge shows up as a more mauve colour in the pictures, but is a true mushroom. The light, stone walls and Winter white Flokati rug pull the room together, and the black accents add drama and contrast. The mirrored tray on the coffee table is a staple, but it’s contents are constantly changing. I love being able to showcase different pieces on this tray, and try to update it on a weekly basis.

Pieces of natural coral give a ‘coastal’ feel (which is good, since we live on the coast) and I have added in tropical elements with natural fibres and pineapple lamps on the side tables. Candles are perfection on this mirrored tray, and watching the warm reflection of the flame dance on the mirror can be mesmerising. By night, it creates the most gorgeous golden glow.
